During Hungry Ghost Month, the gates of hell open and out pour the dead spirits. Jingli, a Seconday One student, finds a ghost named Xiaomei sleeping under her bed. The two develop a friendship and, together with Weizhong, a boy who is also a medium, set about to solve the mystery of Xiaomei’s haunting. About the Author:
Dave Chua lives in Bedok. His first novel, Gone Case, received a Singapore Literature Prize Commendation Award in 1996. Gone Case: A Graphic Novel, Book 1 and Book 2 with the artist Koh Hong Teng were published in 2010 and 2011. Chua's latest book, The Beating and Other Stories, has been longlisted for the 2012 Frank O'Connor International Short Story prize.
About the Illustrator:
Xiao Yan is studying at the School of Art, Design and Media in Nanyang Technological University. She enjoys drawing and painting scenes of absurdist chaos and mayhem. This is her first full length graphic novel project.
