Danger Dan Creates the Ultimate Utama Uproar in this thrilling series finale! It all started four time-travelling adventures ago and now, Danny and Melody have to go back almost to the very beginning of Singapore’s history. The year is 1299 and the legendary Sang Nila Utama has just landed on the island of Temasek. He sees something terrifying in the jungle. Is it a ravenous lion or something even more sinister?
“This mother-and-daughter team of authors has put a delightful spin on several aspects of local history in past books. The fifth and apparently final instalment sees time-travellers Danny and Melody head back to 1299 and uncover the truth behind Sang Nila Utama’s encounter with a lion.”
—Akshita Nanda, The Sunday Times
“Very addictive books that draw readers in like an action-packed movie! Engaging mix of imagery, humour, plot twists, all laced with a distinctive local flavour.”
—Chow Yian Ping, Lianhe Zaobao
“Expect the unexpected with Danger Dan as you join him on his adventures.”
—Susan Liang, History and Social Studies teacher, Pioneer Secondary School
“If Doctor Who were 11 years old and born in Singapore, he’d be a lot like Danger Dan. This time-travelling boy wonder romps through Temasek with a feisty female partner, offering a fun alternative to boring textbook versions of local history.”
—Clara Chow, journalist and parenting columnist
“Danger Dan cleverly weaves moments of history into an entertaining read. A page-turner!”
—Yao Lingyun, educator, Nanyang Girls’ High School
About the Authors
Lesley-Anne and Monica Lim are a mother-and-daughter writing team. Lesley-Anne is still in school so she mostly writes essays and papers, which isn’t quite as fun. These days though, she regularly appears at writers’ sessions and interviews, the latest being the Hong Kong International Young Readers Festival.
Monica runs her own writing business at Hedgehog Commuincations and published a book in 2013 titled The Good, The Bad and the PSLE (Epigram Books).
About the Illustrator
James Tan is an illustrator from Singapore. He likes to create comics and draw stuff, especially animals. He also enjoys doing traditional illustrations using ink and watercolor as there is something more tactile to these media, just like holding a book in your hand.
