Singapore stories by Singapore's largest independent publisher of fiction and non-fiction for all ages.

Established in 2015, the Epigram Books Fiction Prize (EBFP) was initiated to promote contemporary Singapore creative writing and reward excellence in Singapore literature. Since 2020, the EBFP has been open to writers from Southeast Asia.

Writers must be citizens and permanent residents of Southeast Asia. Each submission must be a full-length, original and unpublished manuscript of at least 40,000 words, written in the English language. Translated works are also allowed, however, terms and conditions apply.


Open call for submissions for the 2021 Prize

The call for submissions for the 2021 Epigram Books Fiction Prize is now open! Four writers will be shortlisted and a winner will be announced at a gala dinner and award ceremony.

The winner will receive S$25,000 and a publishing contract.
Three other shortlisted finalists will each receive S$5,000 and a publishing contract.

The closing date for entries is 1 August 2020.

The Judging Panel

We're very happy to announce that we have confirmed our judging panel for the Epigram Books Fiction Prize 2021!

This time around, the panel includes one of Singapore's bestselling authors, a respected literary academic, the executive director of one of the most renowned film festivals in the world, and a seasoned book retailer whose passion for Southeast Asian is undeniable.
